Furniture Repair FAQs

Q: Can Furniture Medic by Valley Service Group repair my furniture on site?

A: In many cases, we can perform repairs on site. However, there are situations in which the extent of the damage requires your furniture to be repaired at an off-site facility. In those instances, we will discuss the procedure for off-site repairs.

Q: Will the products used to repair my furniture be safe for my family?

A: Furniture Medic by Valley Service Group uses predominately water-based products that have less odor. If a repair process requires the use of more traditional products the technician will ensure adequate ventilation or simply work on the piece outside of the home.

Q: What are the main types of damage that can be repaired in my home?

A: Furniture Medic by Valley Service Group repairs damage on all types and styles of wood furniture, surfaces and cabinets. In many cases, items can be repaired instead of being replaced, which can save you money.

Q: I have a white spot on the finish of my table. Can it be fixed?

A: White spots on furniture occur when heat (a hot pizza box, for example) or water (from a glass) penetrate the surface. In most cases, we can repair this type of damage on site in a few hours or less. In cases where the damage is too great, we will present you with other options for restoring the piece.

Q: My dog has chewed the leg of my table and left marks. Can this be repaired?

A: We can repair areas of pet damage including dog chews, cat scratches and various other types of pet damage. Furniture Medic by Valley Service Group will provide you with an analysis of the damaged areas and options for restoring the look of the damaged piece.

Q: I have a table that is showing some wear. What are my options for making this piece look better?

A: There are several ways worn finishes can be repaired. If the wearing is minimal, a new coat of finish can be applied to enhance the appearance. However, if the finish is too badly damaged, the table will likely need to be stripped and refinished.

Q: I recently purchased a piece of furniture for a room but the color does not match the rest of the furniture. Can Furniture Medic by Valley Service Group help with this?

A: We specialize in color changes and specialty finishes. One of our specialists can provide you with options for your furniture.

Q: How long will the repair take? Will I be without my piece of furniture for an extended time?

A: Many repairs can be done in the home in just a few hours. We strive to do repairs in the home to reduce turnaround time. However, sometimes the damage is extensive and must be taken off site for repair.
